Erasmus University College (EUC), invites applications for a Lecturer / Tutor position in Economics (in Dutch “Docent”) for its Economics and Business department.

Job description

The tasks of the Lecturer include tutoring our small-scale groups across various courses (including academic skills courses), reviewing assessment work done by students, assist with the development, implementation and coordination of courses in the fields of Economics for the curriculum of our Liberal Arts & Sciences bachelor programme. A Lecturer will also guide Capstone projects of students in their final year at EUC.

Requirements

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Business Economics or Management (Tutor), or you are now finalising PhD-research/holding a PhD in a relevant field (Lecturer);
  • You are willing and able to guide tutorial groups on a broad range of subjects: you are particularly well-trained in macroeconomics a/o international economics, but candidates with additional teaching experience a/o expertise in quantitative skills a/o business are specifically encouraged to apply;
  • You have demonstrable affinity with teaching;
  • You have excellent communication skills and you are highly proficient in the English language (at least C1 level, C2 level is preferred);
  • You look forward to becoming a proactive member of a stimulating academic community that is the hallmark of a university college;     

Conditions of employment

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The start date of this position is September 2022 or as soon as possible and you will be based at Erasmus University College in Rotterdam. The position is for 0,6 - 1,0 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2.960,- to a maximum of € 4.670,- gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 10 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision, and we offer partially paid parental leave, fully paid extended birth leave for partners, a personal career budget, work-life balance coaches, discounted collective health insurance, and more.
