Job description

Are you interested in working on data-driven research challenges at the interface of academia and industry? The "AI for Retail" Lab (AIRLab) at the University of Amsterdam is seeking a 3-year Postdoctoral Researcher in the areas of data engineering and machine learning for e-commerce.

The AIRLab is a joint research lab between the University of Amsterdam and the Dutch retailers Ahold Delhaize, Albert Heijn and bol.com. Our lab consists of two professors, an assistant professor, a research engineer and eight PhD students, and we work on a wide range of topics from machine learning for e-commerce (search, recommendation, forecasting, multi-objective optimization) to data management for machine learning (data validation, data integration, scalable serving of ML models, responsible data management).

We are looking for a creative researcher with an independent mindset, who establishes their own research agenda, aligned with one of the research directions in our lab. We expect you to interact with our PhD students and support the collaboration with our industry partners.

Our lab's unique setup allows you to work with proprietary data and real-world systems from our industry partners.
