Tenure track: Creating fully circular products and materials

Tenure track: Creating fully circular products and materials

Published Deadline Location
8 Nov 10 Jan Delft

Job description

TU Delft’s department of Sustainable Design Engineering has an opening for a tenure track researcher (assistant professor) who will contribute to a better understanding of the relationships between materials properties and characteristics, a product’s architecture, and its end-of-life recovery possibilities (i.e. repair, remanufacturing, recycling, bio-degradation). Such an in-depth understanding is important for the development of detailed product design knowledge and methods, and to further the field of product design for a circular economy. This research challenge can be approached in different ways, for instance through experimental (lab) research to develop or test new product/material solutions, and/or by creating proof-of-concept solutions through a research-by-design approach.

We welcome applications from candidates who are eager to develop an independent research line, based on creative, innovative research ideas. Your research will be executed in close collaboration with our academic and industrial network, and with students in our education programs. Candidates are expected to contribute to our education activities, including the popular BSc and MSc courses on Design for Sustainability and Circular Product Design.
