Job description

As the department of Organisation and Personnel Management's tenure track assistant professor in leadership development at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), you explore every aspect of the field of leadership development. Your specific focus lies on the current trends in digitalisation, the digital transformation of work, and how that transformation influences leadership and leader development.

You could start as early as March 2023 or as late as 1 September 2023.

Your main tasks
Your main tasks include:
  • Conducting and publishing research in the field of Leadership and Leadership Development
  • Engaging in and contributing to the department's scholarship, in particular the Erasmus Centre for Leadership (https://www.rsm.nl/faculty-research/centres/erasmus-centre-for-leadership/)
  • Teaching master and bachelor students, with the potential to teach post-graduate students as well
  • Supervising master and bachelor theses
  • Engaging in RSM's mission to be a force for positive change

Requirements

As our ideal candidate, you possess:
  • A PhD or expected completion of your PhD during 2023 in OB, HR, organisational psychology or a closely related field in management or social sciences
  • Known expertise in leadership development; specific attention to the challenges of digitalisation is a pre
  • Outstanding demonstratable achievements in leadership research or clear evidence of high potential for such research; for example, published papers or high-quality papers in the pipeline for top management journals (see ERIM journal list)
  • Teaching excellence or can show a clear indication of excellent teaching potential

Your required competences
You are:
  • Passionate about research and teaching
  • A team player, willing to collaborate with others and positively contribute to the department's development and excellence
  • Fluent in English

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 10 years (tenure track).

This is a full-time position with a contract of 38 hours per week, preferably starting in September 2023.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO VSNU). Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3,974 (scale 11 CAO NU) gross per month and up to a maximum of € 6,181 gross per month (scale 12 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
