The department of Organisation and Personnel Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) invites applications for a faculty position in the field of organisation theory (OT). Expected starting date is negotiable but a.s.a.p.

Job description

Are you an ambitious and outstanding teacher in the field of OT? We invite you to join and contribute to building our growing OT, macro-OB group, and to contribute to management practice in the field of OT, through teaching, coordination, and engagement.

Your main tasks
Your role is to support our bachelor and master degree programmes by teaching and coordinating various courses.

Tasks include:
  • Teaching master and bachelor students, ideally connecting macro and micro perspectives with a focus on change and Organisation Theory (topics like organizations and work digitization are also welcomed); potential for teaching post-graduate students
  • Supervising master and bachelor theses
  • Coordinating courses
  • Developing of teaching materials and research into educational-related management topics
  • Contributing to the department's furthering of OT scholarship via instruction
  • Engaging in RSM's mission: being a force for positive change

Requirements

  • At least a master degree but preferably a PhD degree in OT, macro-organisational behaviour or a closely related field in management or the social sciences
  • Research experience in OT and/or macro-organisational research
  • Teaching excellence or indication of excellent teaching potential
  • Interest in engaging in education related research
  • Be able to teach at an academic level in English (CEFR level C2, and the ability to teach in Dutch (CEFR level C2) is a strong plus
  • Have completed the University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or equivalent or are willing to acquire that soon.

Your required competences
  • Passionate about teaching and educational management tasks
  • Team-player, willing to collaborate with others, and positively contribute to the department's development and excellence
  • Fluent in English (writing, speaking); Dutch fluency an advantage

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: Contract of maximum 36 months with the prospect of permanent employment.

This is a full-time position with a contract of 38 hours per week. We initially offer temporary employment for a maximum of three years and the possibility of a permanent contract in case the candidate has a PhD.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO VSNU). Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,960 (scale 10 CAO NU) gross per month and up to a maximum of € 6,181 gross per month (scale 12 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
