The job

In this position, you will share the responsibility of setting-up, teaching and coordinating the design and sketching courses with your colleagues and teach to students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the programme. The bachelor programmes at UT are taught in English.

As a teacher you will be involved in teaching and coordinating multiple bachelor level courses. Examples of which include:

• Design Sketching courses: The design sketching line consists of three courses. The first introduces students to the topic and teaches basic techniques, geometry and the fundamentals of perspective. The second follows with more in depth treatment of realism and marker rendering materials and techniques. The third course brings the former into the digital world and teaches the students digital drawing on a Wacom tablet and iPad using software like Procreate, Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro.
• Design and styling: Students in this course get familiar with the importance of socio-cultural parameters in design and practice with implementing these into the design of a personal product in which design and styling follow logically from the choices made earlier in the design process.

Next to this, teachers can be involved in mentoring (design) project teams and can advise on the set-up of new courses.

• You have obtained a degree in arts & design, product design or similar at bachelor or master level.
• You have experience in teaching sketching for designers or are eager to learn about this. You are open minded towards modern views on teaching and learning.
• Finally, you are a great teammate with excellent interpersonal skills and are proficient in English.

• We offer a part-time Lecturer position (0,4-0,6 fte) with an initial contract for one or two years;
• Depending on your relevant background and experience, the gross monthly salary on a full-time basis ranges from € 2.960,- € to € 5.439,- per month depending on experience and qualifications;
