Job description

We are looking for a full-time lecturer who will become one of our core teachers in the domain of Interactive Media, one of the specializations of Creative Technology. Ideally, you have a wide experience on the development side of Interactive Media: games, animation, 3D-modelling etc. If you are able to combine this with a background in also Interactive Media Design, this is definitely a plus.

The bachelor programme is taught in English. And it is an interdisciplinary program in which the latest smart technology and interactive media for developing solutions that will contribute to a better future for people and society are taught. Throughout the many hands-on projects, students gain technical knowledge and skills, as well as the ability to understand how media and technology influence humans, design and creative processes. Using extensive knowledge of computer science and electrical engineering, students learn to cover the entire creation process: from identifying the core question to building a working prototype and testing it on users.

As our new colleague you will become an all-round team member, taking up lecturing, but also supervising bachelor graduation students and coordinating one or more modules and some other education-related tasks, such as making and grading of tests and assignments. Of course, you will be involved in further shaping the curriculum together with the other colleagues on the team.

Requirements

  • You may come from a variety of backgrounds for this position, like Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Applied AI, Game Development etc. A PhD is a requirement.
  • You have an open mind towards modern views on teaching and learning.
  • You are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • You are fluent in English;
  • You have, or are willing to acquire, a University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) or equivalent.

  • Depending on your relevant background and experience, the gross monthly salary on a full-time basis ranges from € 2.960,- to € 4.670,- per month.
  • Further growth towards a more senior position with a maximum of € 5.439,- per month is possible if you possess ample experience in additional tasks like independent development of educational units.
  • A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%, and a solid pension scheme.
  • A minimum of 29 leave days in case of full-time employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A full-time employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis.
