Job description

Would you like to be our new colleague at University College Utrecht? We are looking for a Support Officer in IT and Educational Logistics. Together with our Information and Demand Manager you will shape our IT policy. You'll think along, offer help, communicate and implement. You will be part of a small, hands-on team at University College Utrecht (UCU) and will work together with other colleagues of Utrecht University.

Job description:

  • You will manage and support various educational applications of University College Utrecht. Such as the digital learning environment (Blackboard), plagiarism software (Ouriginal) and the video platform (Ubicast). You set up the environment, update instructions, and make sure that questions are dealt with adequately. You also think about how we can use these applications as well as possible.
  • You will support teachers and employees with questions about general office applications, such as MS Teams.
  • You will manage the hardware of UCU, both the equipment in the office as mobile devices. When there are questions or problems, you offer support.
  • You will manage employees' access to shared storage and functional mailboxes (QDS management).

You work accurately and in a structured way, even during busy times. You are a positive go-getter. You can quickly master new applications. You enjoy working together and you can also work independently.

 Qualifications 

  • You have completed MBO (secondairy higher vocational) or HBO (tertiairy higher vocational) education and several years of work experience.
  • Experience in IT is not required, but interest in hard- and software and in the management of (educational) applications is a plus.
  • You have good communication and social skills.
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, orally and in writing.

For us at UCU it is more important who you are than what you are, in other words your education and work experience. Therefore, we will take into account both your personality and competencies. Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position (0.4 - 0.6 FTE) for one year in an international working environment. After a positive performance evaluation, this can be turned into a permanent position. In case you have the required experience, a permanent position is negotiable during contract negotiation. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience  - ranges between €2,818 and €3,764 (scale 8 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year.
