Python Software EngineersJob descriptionCentrum Wiskunde & Informatica invite you to apply for a vacancy in IT&F. The ideal candidates we are looking for are multiple software engineers.
Our current major software activity is re-building and re-styling of the CWI main website. The site is being transformed from a purely Plone based CMS, to a new platform using Wagtail/Django CMS & Plone.
Our projected development schedule includes projects such as:
- Integration of an Application Tracking System into the new website
- Generating a license manager overview to be accessible from the internet
- Implementing and extending a publishing platform for hosting scientific journals
- Implementing a more streamlined process for onboarding and offboarding personnel
- building a service proxy, intended to easily host more than one SURFconext enabled application

Requirements
Candidates are required to have several years of Python development experience, should have a broadly developed IT knowledge and be used to working independently. Familiar with modern software development methods and the knowledge of software revision systems. One of the main tasks will be maintain and further develop the systems we use for our internal and external information provisioning. Our development stack is Linux based, using Open Source tooling.
Experience with Plone CMS, CSS, HTML, Ngix, SSH, Gitlab / Github, General knowledge of open source solutions will be much appreciated.
Other required skills are Linux, Python, Wagtail, Django, Docker, docker-compose, or other container orchestration tools.
Gitlab ci/package/container registry.
Fluent in English and/or Dutch.

Conditions of employment
The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Research Centres ("CAO-onderzoeksinstellingen"). The initial labour agreement will be for a period of 12 months with prospect of a permanent contract. The gross monthly salary for an employee on a full time basis, depending on relevant work experience, ranges from € 3,019 to € 4,789.
Employees are also entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.33%. CWI offers attractive working conditions, including flexible scheduling and help with housing for expat employees.
