Job description

The School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University offers a 4-year PhD position for students with a (Research) Master degree or equivalent at the department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM).

We offer a dynamic and challenging job in an internationally oriented organisation in which students receive advanced education and scholars conduct exciting research. The selected PhD candidate will have the unique opportunity to conduct research within the Research Topics at the Graduate School of Business and Economics (GSBE). The candidate will be part of an international network of top universities and renowned scholars within the field.

At MSCM, we work on distinct research domains, such as consumer behaviour, retailing, service design, marketing technologies, supply chain innovation or supply chain resilience. In the last few years, we have pursued research projects on these distinct domains with a thematic focus on digitalization and sustainability. We are captivated by research that combines scholarly rigor with societal impact on these epoch-making themes.

Thus, we are looking for candidates that share our passion for conducting doctoral work in either of these foci in the context of one of the department's research domains. Further information can be gleaned from the department’s website.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 jaar.

Remuneration will be according to standard salary levels for PhD students starting with a salary of €2.541- with a yearly growth to € 3.247- gross a month (based on a full-time appointment). Each year the standard salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% of the yearly gross income.

You have to be willing to move to (the vicinity of) Maastricht. If you do not already live in Maastricht (or its direct surroundings), you will be eligible for an allowance for moving costs. If you do not already live in Maastricht (or its direct surroundings), you might be eligible for an allowance for alternative housing. Other secondary conditions include a pension scheme and partially paid parental leave.

The envisioned starting date is September 2023

Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management
