Our energy system is vulnerable. The gas crisis in Europe, related to the war in Ukraine, has shown us how easy our energy supply can be disrupted. There is a variety of risks to the energy system. Geopolitical risks are just one of them. Others are power system stability risks, disruptive cybersecurity risks, and threats to critical energy supply infrastructure.
Within the Netherlands’ Energy Research Alliance, Dutch universities cooperate on energy transition research. Together we want to explore what research is needed to have a better understanding of the main energy system vulnerabilities, and how these vulnerabilities can be reduced. To this end, we have started this project, led by Delft University of Technology.
The tasks of the postdoc will be:
Although this is a position at TU Delft, the work will be carried out in close cooperation with energy researchers across Dutch universities and internationally.
As a successful candidate:
Fixed-term contract: 15 months if full time, otherwise longer.
The postdoc position will be classified in a researcher 4 or researcher 3 profile, depending on the expertise of the selected candidate and tasks and responsibilities to be agreed. The salary range is between Euro 3703 and Euro 5429 gross per month.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount on health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged.
