Job description

The Chair for Quality and Safety of Oral Health Care at Radboud University Medical Center seeks to appoint a Postdoc in Dental Public Health (fulltime, part-time possible) to carry out innovative research to advance evidence-informed public health policymaking for better oral health in poor and vulnerable population groups. Applying quantitative and qualitative methods, you're envisioned to:
  • Evaluate the impact of food policies, digital health innovations, and macroeconomic dynamics (e.g. price inflation) on people's oral health.
  • Assess the needs and preferences for oral health and care from the perspective of citizens and oral health professionals (e.g. by means of conjoint analysis).
  • Quantify financial barriers in access to essential oral health care.
  • Identify drivers and barriers in policymaking to improve population oral health.
  • Engage with citizens, policymakers, health professionals, and health insurers to co-develop innovative strategies for population oral health improvement.
As a postdoc you will liaise with internal and external collaborators, contribute to teaching activities, and take care of relevant administrative matters of the Chair for Quality and Safety of Oral Health Care.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Conduct research regarding evidence-informed public health policymaking for better oral health in poor and vulnerable population groups.
  • Liaise with and coordinate collaboration with internal and external collaborators.
  • Support the Chair for Quality and Safety of Oral Health Care in all scientific, educational, and administrative matters.
  • Preparation of research results in the form of publications in international journals as well as presentations at national and international conferences.
  • Willingness to write grant proposals.

Requirements

In addition you possess the profile below:
  • PhD degree in public health, health services research or health economics.
  • Excellent skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience in scientific policy advisory is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Expertise in oral health care is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to acquire new skills for research and education.
  • Ability and willingness to work in interdisciplinary and international teams.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

  • As a full-time employee (36 hours per week), you are entitled to approximately 168 vacation hours (over 23 days) per year.
  • Radboud university medical center pays 70% of the pension premium. You pay the rest of the premium with your gross salary.
