Job description

Organisations in most private and public sectors, in areas as diverse as manufacturing, healthcare or creative industries, share a pressing need for innovation. However, stimulating the required creativity is something many organisations struggle with. As Assistant Professor of Creativity at TU Delft you will develop your niche, helping people in organisations, in society and our design students to boost their innovative potential.

You will develop a distinctive research line for which you will attract funding and work with PhD students you will co-supervise. Contributing to world-class education, you will also be teaching Bachelor and Master students, in existing or new courses to expand and innovate our curriculum.

The interdisciplinary team of Connected Creativity Lab at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering will be your home base. The lab comprises of academic and teaching staff, PhD students, postdocs, and innovative entrepreneurs. We are a lively and engaged group of people, exploring new creative approaches to teaching and research. As a group we have built a strong track record on creativity research: ideation, creative facilitation, inspiration, creative confidence, and technology-driven creativity. We are part of a strong network of industries and businesses and participate actively in relevant communities within the academic world, and we are open to collaborate with networks that you might bring in. We would therefore welcome candidates with complementary interests, such as creative online collaboration, neuro-cognitive drivers in creativity, and ‘creative climate’ (i.e. how to change cultures in and around organisations). Of course, you can also surprise us with a new interest in design-relevant creativity we have not yet foreseen.

The lab is part of the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, a friendly and collaborative environment in which you will get all the support you need to evolve and grow your academic career. Join our lab and help bring our faculty to the fore in conversations about creativity!
