Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical, and proactive postdoc to work on the VICI project  "Unraveling the Impacts of Using Alternative Raw Materials in Industrial Clusters". The PD will work together with Prof Ramírez and three Ph.D. students in the development of a model that allows assessing the system impacts of using alternative sources of carbon (biomass, CO2, waste) in symbiotic industrial clusters. The PD will explore the use and adaptation of modeling approaches used in invasion ecology to study the transformation of symbiotic industrial clusters, thereby contributing to the development of new insights and knowledge to guide the transition of the industrial sector in the coming decades

Requirements

We are looking for a researcher who:

  • is interested in transdisciplinary research and wants to contribute to the energy and industrial transition.
  • has recently completed a PhD in the field of system analysis, invasion ecology or modeling of complex systems.
  • has an academic background in mathematics, engineering, and or (invasion/evolutionary) ecology.
  • has excellent academic qualifications and strong analytical and communication skills.
  • has hands-on experience in modeling.
  • enjoys working in an interdisciplinary group and is a team player.

Very good communication and writing skills in the English language are required.
