The EPG group within the Applied Physics department seeks to hire an outstanding EngD candidate within the field of plasma physics.
This is a two-year program and leads to an Engineering Doctorate (EngD). An important part of the programme is the design project which will be performed at Wassenburg Medical and Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The project is spread over two years and aims to develop your design engineers' abilities. In the project, a specific design objective must be reached within a restricted period of time and with limited means.
This EngD project is part of a large project that aims at the advancement of disinfection of medical equipment at several stages - the gas phase plasma and the plasma in interaction with water. The final goal is to maximize efficiency in conditions of small volume and high throughput.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design rules for plasma-enhanced water cleaning and development of a working prototype.
- Implementation of diagnostics as well as elements for the enhancement of the plasma system.
- In direct contact with a company, making sure that the prototype is usable in the current cleaning system.
- Collaboration with other students in the project as well as company engineers.
