Job description
IHS, Erasmus University Rotterdam has a vacancy for a Student Affairs Officer (0.8 fte). We are looking forward to finding a new team member to support the management of the institute’s international MSc programme in Urban Management and Development. The students, together with our diverse staff, contribute to a dynamic international atmosphere. You will work closely with the Academic Director, the Educational Programme Manager, Module Coordinators and the Educational Management Office team as well as the wider Professional services department.
Responsibilities
The main focus of the student affairs officer is to:
- Provide overall administrative support to the MSc Programme Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of the programme from pre-arrival to graduation, engaging in different aspects of programme management from scheduling, through students’ well being up to budgets and procedures
- Proactively communicate with students and staff, and answer questions by mail, MS Teams, phone and in person regarding e.g. enrolment, tests, exams and graduation
- Support the development and compilation of programme handbooks and programme schedules
- Ensure all courses, course schedules, enrolments, and grades are reflected in the educational monitoring system Osiris as well as fulfil a key user role for the system and prepare diplomas, certificates and grade lists
- Support the Educational Board as well as educational working groups addressing the restructuring of the master’s programme
- Be proactive in contributing to improving the working processes

Requirements
Requirements
- Undergraduate or HBO degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience
- Relevant experience in administration, preferably in education and student affairs in higher education
- Highly organized, proactive and independent working style and able to deal with deadlines
- Service orientation and flexibility while being able to communicate boundaries
- Good knowledge of English (in writing and speech); working knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset

Conditions of Employment
The salary is in accordance with the responsibilities of the job and is subject to training and experience and corresponds to Scale 8 CAO NU. IHS has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8.0%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 30 annual vacation days in case of a full work week. The Student Affairs officer reports to the Head of Professional Services.
The candidate must be in possession of a Dutch residence permit or be an EU citizen.
