Naturalis is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow on assessing biodiversity impacts for the business sector.

Job description

The candidate will be part of the research group Netherlands Biodiversity and Society, which combines basic biodiversity research with the development of species detection and monitoring and is engaged in multiple (inter)national projects including research projects and societal activities with governments and companies. The group consists of 6 researchers, more than 10 postdocs and PhDs, multiple students and guest researchers.

In collaboration with the other Naturalis departments, we aim to expand our expertise in biodiversity analysis, in particular in relation to impact and dependencies on biodiversity and natural capital by economic activities (e.g. linked to the CSRD regulations and TNFD framework). For the current position, which is key to our strategy, we are seeking a postdoctoral fellow that brings relevant skills and expertise that complements our biodiversity knowledge. This may include Natural Capital Accounting, Life Cycle Analysis, Input-Output analysis and related approaches with a focus on biodiversity and environment. The candidate is expected to become a strong advocate of the Naturalis goals, and will be an inspiring and stimulating team player. The candidate will (help) develop analytical tools in collaboration with KPMG and other financial institutions. The position is for 2 years, but we foresee possibilities for extension after that.
