Job description

We are looking for a formulation scientist to pursue our ambitious endeavours regarding in-house product development towards clinical trials and collaboration projects with other academic and industrial partners. In your position, you will be responsible for all formulation- and correlated analytical aspects of our clinical candidate development. You will identify the key questions and execute all relevant experiments to address these.

You will be responsible for leading all formulation and analytical activities:
  • Documentation of all process and analytical development in suitable protocols and reports for future reference in IMPD and QA documentation.
  • Identify key analytical questions per project, determine required quality levels,
  • select appropriate analytical approaches.
  • Contribute to project plans based on mutually defined quality criteria, together with the project team and external collaborators.
  • Execute an agreed project plan in line with pre-set quality levels on content, timelines and budget.

Requirements

We are looking for a teamplayer with excellent communication and organization skills. Candidates with a PhD degree in polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutics or another relevant background are preferred. Significant Industrial experience is required.
In addition you have experience with:
  • Formulation development projects, ideally in the field of innovative (polymeric) drug products and/or nanoparticle formulations.
  • Design and conduct of formulation and analytical development projects.
  • Relevant chromatographic (LC, SEC) and detection techniques (UV, RI).
  • QA/QC systems, infrastructure, and corresponding guidelines.

You are able to work in a multidisciplinary working environment. You also are a self-starting, analytical and creative problem-solver with ample awareness for quality aspects. Finally, you are fluent in English, both in word and in writing.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year with a possible extension.

  • A gross monthly salary between € 3.230 and € 5.088 (scale 10) based on full-time employment.

  • If you work irregular hours, you will receive an allowance.
  • As a full-time employee (36 hours per week), you are entitled to approximately 168 vacation hours (over 23 days) per year.
  • Radboud university medical center pays 70% of the pension premium. You pay the rest of the premium with your gross salary.
