We invite you to embark on an exciting journey as a Research Assistant in our team.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our research team, specializing in the study of internationalization and innovation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our research projects, contributing to the investigation and analysis of various aspects related to the global expansion and innovative strategies of SMEs. Key Responsibilities:
  • Research Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of research projects related to internationalization and innovation in SMEs. This includes data collection, surveys, interviews, and case studies.
  • Data Management: Manage and organize research data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and secure storage. Contribute to data analysis using statistical software.
  • Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to stay current with the latest research in the field of internationalization and innovation in SMEs.
  • Report Writing: Contribute to the preparation of research reports, academic papers, and presentations. This includes data visualization, interpretation, and creating research insights.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with research team members, including faculty members and senior researchers, to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Communication: Present research findings to the team, actively participate in research meetings, and engage with external stakeholders.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks related to the research project, such as project documentation, ethics approvals, and coordination of research activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, economics, or social sciences.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including experience with statistical analysis software.
  • An interest in small and medium-sized enterprises and their unique characteristics and challenges.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in literature review and academic writing.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis methods is a plus.

What we offer

As a research assistant at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation you will be employed by the most international university of the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is in graded in scale 7 according to the UFO profile “Onderzoeks- en Onderwijsmedewerker”, function level with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 2.693,- to € 3.636,- gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus are applicable.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0.5 FTE. If proven suitable, the employment contract will be converted into an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
