General Description A Postdoc position for 1.5 years for 1.0 fte (with a possible extension) is available at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Amsterdam Cooperation Lab (

The project This project is about how variation across ecologies can shape how people are interdependent with each other, which affects cultural norms of cooperation. The postdoc will be involved with designing and implementing two large online studies. The studies will use different methodologies, including ego network surveys, experience sampling, and economic games. The candidate must be well-organized and prepared to work with a team of experts who will translate materials, and panel agencies to acquire samples. The project could benefit from prior experience conducting cross-cultural research, designing and implementing online studies, and the use of multi-level statistical models. You will work in a lab with a highly interdisciplinary focus, including experts in psychology, anthropology, evolutionary game theory, and computer science. The project will involve a collaboration between two labs and the postdoc will be supervised by P.I.’s from each lab: Daniel Balliet (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Joanna Schug (William and Mary, USA) .
