EDLAB is Maastricht University’s Centre for Teaching & Learning and is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of innovative cross-faculty projects and pilots. For the coordination of cross-faculty honours programmes and talent education, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Coordinator Excellence with a focus on Social Media & Online Community.
The Coordinator is, together with the Senior Coordinator Excellence, responsible for the organization, innovation, evaluation and implementation of the excellence programmes PREMIUM and Honours+ at Maastricht University. The Excellence team of EDLAB also work towards new initiatives based on talent development and community building among honours students.
Tasks of the Coordinator: - Developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to promote the honours programmes.
- Creating engaging content to highlight student achievements, programme updates, and educational resources.
- Managing the programme's social media accounts, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Tracking and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize engagement.
- Fostering an active online community among honours students and alumni.
- Responsible for the recruitment (on and off campus) of PREMIUM students and supervising a team of PREMIUM student ambassadors.
- Selecting of PREMIUM students.
- Co-coordinating of the yearly set-up of PREMIUM and Honours+ and all tasks involved.
- Development of promotional material for the programmes.
- Co-hosting events and sessions.
Profile This role is perfect for a young professional with great organizational and communication skills, an eye for detail, content creation skills and the ambition to learn. The Coordinator can take on multiple tasks at the same time and knows how to keep an overview. They like to work with high-performing students and have a drive to optimize their learning experience.
The Coordinator will have to work close together with (and under supervision of) the Senior Coordinator Excellence, but also with different stakeholders (students, faculty coordinators, senior staff, trainers, supervisors, external clients etc.). Together with the rest of the team, the Junior Coordinator is the face of excellence at Maastricht University.
Our new Coordinator is a great team player, has proven experience in social media management and content creation, does not shy away from a challenge (like our excellence students), a go-getter with an eye for new possibilities and opportunities and has a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Master’s degree;
- Project coordination experience, preferably in higher education;
- Strong understanding of online community engagement and digital communication strategies.
- Eagerness to learn and develop;
- Passion for honours education and for creating a learning experience for our students;
- Team player;
- Excellent communication and organization skills;
- Language skills: English (level C1) and Dutch (level B1);
- Ability to keep overview with broad variety of tasks and knows how to prioritize;
- Ability to work independently, but knows when to look for support from colleagues;
- Thinks in solutions and opportunities, not obstacles;
- Proficiency with Canvas is a requirement.
What we offerAs Coordinator Excellence at Maastricht University Office, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you: - Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 10 according to UFO profile Education Development Officer, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3345,00 and €5278,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
- An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,8 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
- At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
