Your primary responsibility as bioinformatician will be to implement, manage and maintain bioinformatics tools for the analysis of high content microarray- and NGS-generated ‘omics data.
Another essential task relates to system administration and maintaining/updating the several application- and storage-servers that have been set up in our department.
Subsequently, desired bioinformatics tools are to be frequently updated and additional ones to be installed. The management of research data will also be part of your work.
You will work in a team of bioinformaticians and you will be supervised by a senior bioinformatician.
We offer a two years fulltime position with an option for a fixed position thereafter.
A BSc in (Bio)informatics with a broad IT interest and experience in software design, development, implementation, management and maintenance. Programming skills in R, Python or other relevant language is required. Knowledge of containerization, grid computing and machine learning, but also of genomics is highly desirable.
Fixed-term contract: 2 year.
