Job description

At the AMC Oncological Center we continue to provide the best care for cancer patients. In a nationwide collaboration with other university medical centers, under supervision of the NFU, we have undertaken several projects to improve regional oncological networks. One of these projects is the study of the role of decision support systems, more specifically Oncoguide (www.oncoguide.nl). Moreover, the AMC plays a leading role in the Multidisciplinary System approach, together with LUMC and UMCG. For this project we are looking for a PhD student with a keen interest in evaluation of cancer care, and information technology, who will assess the role of Oncoguide in the Amsterdam region, develops and evaluates content for Oncoguide based on the 2018/2019 colorectal cancer guidelines, and participates in the Multidisciplinary System approach.

Requirements

We are looking for a PhD student with proven interest in oncology and/or information technology. Medical students,Technical Medicine students and Biomedical students can all apply. You will work together with other teams from different university medical centers (LUMC and UMCG), and will need to have close ties with the hospitals studying the role of Oncoguide in the Amsterdam area. For the development of the colorectal cancer guideline content, you will work parallel with experts in the field. We are therefore seeking a very pro-active person with excellent communication skills.

Conditions of employment

You will initially be offered an employment contract for a period of 6 months at the AMC, with the possibility of extension with another 2.5 years. You will be employed by AMC Medical Research BV. The salary is in accordance with the CAO-UMC. PhD students (Onderzoeker in Opleiding) are placed in scale 21, with a fulltime gross salary that ranges from € 2.279,- to € 2919,- and is based on qualifications and experience. For a doctor (Arts-Onderzoeker) it’s scale 10, with a fulltime gross salary that ranges from € 2919,- to €4.216,- and is based on qualifications and experience. In addition we offer a vacation allowance of 8% of the gross yearly salary and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
