Your contribution
Working in the Cell Biology department you contribute to accelerating the breeding of our potato varieties. We do this with existing, new and innovative breeding techniques. Through substantive research, project management, process optimization and coaching of the assistants in the team, you will help to continue structuring and growing the team!  

Specifically, you have the following main tasks:

• Develop, implement new protocols and optimize existing protocols
• Keeping up with relevant literature
• Project management. You are able to steer projects, shape them and clearly communicate to the project team, your supervisor and the breeders
• Process optimization. You understand processes quickly and know how to make improvement
• Coaching assistants and taking an active, steering role in the team
• Building/ maintaining contact with universities and research institutes, visiting relevant symposiums

We are looking for a proactive colleague who likes to play a crucial role in the Cell Biology department. You have:

• a background in plant cell biology from a relevant education at a minimum Bachelor level
• several years of work experience in plant cell biology (cell isolation techniques, plant regeneration and propagation)
• affinity with project management and process optimization
• knowledge of molecular biology and genetics
• good command (oral and written) of the Dutch and English language

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

In this advanced knowledge center, around 100 colleagues from all over the world work daily to develop new varieties, improve current varieties and expand our knowledge in all kinds of specialisms.
