Job description

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to work on various projects related both to Health Technology Assessment and THINC (The Health Care Innovation Centre, www.thinc.healthcare). At the Julius Center, THINC combines several disciplines such as HTA, biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, and medical ethics, with the overall aim of evaluating medical and healthcare innovations at an early stage. Embedded in a strong network of innovative SMEs, THINC projects are intended to provide guidance for the further development of innovations and the associated decision-making.

Requirements

You have a PhD in healthcare policy and management, health economics, econometrics, biomedical sciences, biostatistics, or a similar discipline, and an interest in early HTA assessment and the evaluation of medical and healthcare innovations. Broad experience with HTA research is crucial. You have demonstrable affinity with quantitative research and health economic modeling, and experience with statistical packages, such as Stata, SPSS, SAS and R, as well as thorough knowledge of MS Excel. In addition, you should possess strong oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English and be a strong team player. You will be expected to work independently, show initiative and meet deadlines.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: temporary appointment for one year.

For this 100% post, the maximum salary will be € 4.917,-. This will be a temporary appointment for one year.

Julius Center

You will be employed by the Healthcare Innovation and Evaluation sub-department at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care (www.juliuscenter.nl). The Julius Center is one of eleven divisions of the UMC Utrecht. Its mission is to contribute to the scientific knowledge base of medical practice by initiating and conducting high-quality applied medical research (e.g. epidemiological, biostatistical and healthcare innovation research) and by providing high-quality education covering the area from bachelor to post-graduate teaching programs. The departments of the Julius Center are: Epidemiology, Primary Care, PHM (Public Health, Healthcare Innovation and Evaluation, Medical Humanities), and Biostatistics & Research Support. The Julius Center has a strong focus on the development and evaluation of research methods, and supports the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of clinical research in virtually all departments of the UMC Utrecht.
