The expertise of the Department of Food Service & Catering contributes to the offerings of the program units. With much passion and enthusiasm, they provide lunch and dinner in the Cafe. The catering branch focuses on various events for groups of 20 to 6.000 people. The team consists of 5 permanent employees and is supplemented by a flexpool of 30 student employees.

You work together with a team of 3 cooks and one chef in a semi-open kitchen.

You are responsible for creating weekly menu’s as well as dishes for the standard menu in consultation with the chef, you prepare and deliver the dishes and catering according to the agreed-upon standards. In the chef’s absence, you will take over the ordering of ingredients and other supplemental supplies from the regular suppliers under fixed terms.

During lunch there are at least 2 cooks at work, and 3 during dinner.

We rotate your hours according to a schedule, which is generally on Monday through Friday between 12.00-22.00. This can be 12.00-20.00 / 17.00-22.00 / 12.00-22.00 depending on business and catering requests. It may be that you will work 2 to 3 days per month on the weekend; these duties rotate among 3 cooks.

You are an enterprising and engaging person who enjoys the challenge of coming up with new ideas and carrying them out. You enjoy working in an informal and dynamic organization. You are always thinking a few steps ahead and can function well independently. You spot and solve problems in advance.

You are customer- and results-oriented, creative, and open to feedback.

You have the necessary food service diploma to work independently as a Cook Level 3, and you have adequate and relevant work experience.

You have a good command of Dutch and English.

The position is for 38 hours (1.0 FTE) a week. The contract is for 1 year. The position is based on salary scale 6 of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (with a maximum of € 2911,- based on a full-time appointment). Universiteitsdienst - Education & Student Affairs

De directie Education & Student Affairs (ESA) ondersteunt het onderwijs met het voeren van de onderwijs- en studentenadministratie, coördinatie van het onderwijsbeleid, het begeleiden en ondersteunen van (buitenlandse) studenten en promovendi, het verzorgen van (didactische) trainingen, het geven van onderwijskundig advies en ondersteuning, en het aanbieden van sport & cultuur activiteiten. De directie ESA bestaat uit de afdelingen Education Service Centre, Academic Services, Extension School en Sports & Culture. De directie telt circa 250 medewerkers. De directie ESA staat binnen de TU Delft bekend om de hoge kwaliteit van haar dienstverlening en kent een proactieve en oplossingsgerichte cultuur.

Unit Sports & Culture

The Unit Sports & Culture (S&C) is responsible for the development, programming and implementation of TU Delft's sports and cultural policy. S&C consists of three units: Sports, Culture and Events. In addition, three departments (Communication, Services Planning and Support, and Catering) provide expertise to support these units.

Thanks to the help of some 50 student organisations, over a hundred of teaching staff (most of whom part-time) and trainers, S&C is able to provide an attractive programme of activities in which some 13,500 students and staff members participate each year. The primary goal of S&C is to provide added value to the university experience by contributing to the personal development of the students, the quality of campus life and the social engagement of TU Delft cultural student associations.

S&C staff members have a strong ambition to contribute to and participate in the personal growth of people in general and the students in particular. They are also committed to their own personal development and they have a strong capacity to learn.
