Job description

For the Human Subject Research (HSR) programme, we are developing tools for researchers working with human data. Various organizational units within the UG and the UMCG are working closely together on this. Our guiding principles are ‘data are FAIR’, ‘we reduce the administrative burden for the researcher’, and ‘we reuse what we have and what works’.

Within this programme is a vacancy for a Solution Architect. The successful candidate will use these guiding principles to create a total solution for the researchers. It is clear that the principles will sometimes clash and that compromise will be essential. The successful candidate will be the spider at the centre of the total solution web, which will eventually comprise over 30 partial solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with the application architects and developers in the sub-projects, and ensure a maintainable total solution. The successful candidate will be the linking pin to the IT architects within the UG and the UMCG. He or she will be the natural discussion partner for researchers in different fields when explaining how the total solution will support good research, and will translate researchers’ wishes and requirements into a tailored plan and roadmap.
