Job description

We are looking for
Wageningen University is a top class university, ranking among the world's leading institutions in the food, agri and environmental domains. We are looking for an assistant professor (in tenure track) to develop the topic of e-marketing for healthy, sustainable consumer food choice within our the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour group. Our group is unique in not only making essential theoretical contributions in the top journals of multiple research fields such as Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Agricultural Economics, Food Sciences, and Psychology, but it also emphasizes social impact of research ("Science for Impact", see www.wur.nl).

We invite candidates to apply who have the ambition to make scientific and societal impactful contributions to the field of healthy consumer choice in close collaboration with researchers from other disciplines and universities. You will be responsible for the organisation, implementation and coordination of new research and education activities in the field of e-marketing of healthy, sustainable food. In the offered tenure track position you will develop a research program aiming to build a leading international position. You are expected and supported in generating funding for your future research through proposal writing, both individually, with colleagues in the field, and with interdisciplinary colleagues.

Research
This position is part of the interdisciplinary programme "Pride & Prejudice - Tackling chronic disease prevention through real-life monitoring and context-aware intervention design", which is financially supported by the 4TU federation (see https://www.4tu.nl/en/news/!/84378/awarding_hightech/). Central to the Pride & Prejudice programme is the combination of monitoring in real-life through sensors (food intake, physical activity and health parameters) with development of design interventions at different levels of the system including the individual consumer, and evaluation of the (long-term) effectiveness of these combined interventions. The ambition is that after the initial project period a lasting collaboration has been formed, of which the successful candidate will be our representative.

Education
In your teaching you will be motivating and teaching students in various educational programs in existing courses and courses that you develop on your own topic. You will be involved in the supervision of thesis projects at the BSc, MSc level. You will also be given the opportunity to supervise PhD candidates. To ensure teaching quality, Wageningen University expects lecturers to hold or complete the Dutch nationally recognised University Teaching Qualification, and offers a training program to achieve it.
