The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching specific core courses on the undergraduate and graduate levels at the Faculty of Archaeology. These core courses (which are lecture and laboratory based) cover a broad range of topics and themes in osteoarchaeology and bioarchaeology. In addition, the successful candidate also will be encouraged to incorporate their own area of specialization into these courses – research-led teaching is a goal. You will contribute to the supervision of theses within the BA, MSc, RMA and PhD programs.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate is required to establish an active research programme leading to peer-reviewed publications, to acquire external funding and to disseminate research results to the wider academic audience and the public. Commensurate with experience, you will also contribute to administrative and management tasks at the Osteoarchaeology laboratory, the department and the faculty.
We offer a six year term position. The possibility of renewal will be discussed after an evaluation in the fifth year. Salary range from €3,545 to €4,852 gross per month on a full-time basis (pay scale 11 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). Salary scale depends on education and experience. The position is available as of the 1st of September 2018.
