Job description

The Department of Clinical, Neuro and Developmental psychology focuses on implementation of research and education in clinical psychology in the broadest sense, from genetics to treatment and care. Our research is aimed directly or indirectly at the onset and diagnosis of mental disorders and the subsequent treatment and prevention. In research and education, we integrate epidemiological, clinical, neuropsychological and developmental perspectives. We focus on all age groups from conception to old age. The associate professor will be positioned in the section Clinical Neuropsychology. This section conducts leading research into the development, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and functional impairments caused by disorders in the central nervous system in children, adults and the elderly. Research focusses on behavioral outcomes, (computerized) neurocognitive assessment and brain imaging techniques. The section has an excellent track record in the development of treatment programs to prevent and ameliorate behavioral and functional impairments associated with neuropsychological disorders.
 
Your duties
• Teaching in the Psychology bachelor and Clinical Neuropsychology master programmes and the Research Master Cognitive Neuropsychology
• Initiating, developing and conducting patient-based research for the research programme in Clincial Neuropsychology
• Supervising junior researchers and PhD students
• Creating a self-supporting financial budget for the research programme, in particular by applying for personal and consortium grants
• Strenghtening collaboration within the Research institutes for Brain and Behavior Amsterdam (iBBA)  and Amsterdam Public Health (APH)

Requirements

• background in behavioural sciences
• doctoral degree in the domain of Clinical Neuropsychology with a focus on (disorders in) adulthood and/or aging
• preferably a clinical registration as healthcare psychologist (GZ psycholoog) or clinical (neuro)psychologist
• excellent track record of international publications
• proven experience in attracting external research funding
•  good international research network
• good clinical network of settings for (mental) health
• excellent teacher and supervisor
• the candidate must have a fluent command of Dutch and English; any appointee lacking this level of linguistic competence will be expected to acquire it within a period of two years.

Conditions of employment

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of € 4911 gross per month.- up to a maximum € 6567,-- gross per month in accordance with salary scale 13-14, depending on your education and experience. The job profile (associate professor) is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for a fulltime position.
   
The appointment is for a tenure track position, with an initial contract period of 5 years. Starting dates are negotiable, but no later than February, 2019.

The Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences focuses on the broad domain of behaviour and health.
