Job description

The research is carried out in the 4TU program ‘Precision Medicine by integrating Multiscale Functional Imaging and Advanced Machine Learning’. The program is a collaboration between experimental and mathematical imaging groups at the University of Twente, Delft University of Technology and Eindhoven University of Technology. You will be part of the Biomedical Photonic Imaging group of the University of Twente, while the Physics of Fluids group of our university will be a strong collaboration partner.

Your research will focus on photoacoustic imaging for quantitative detection of markers such as blood oxygenation, and the concentration of endogenous chromophores and contrast agents.

You are expected to perform research of high quality, and contribute to making the project a success. Furthermore you will contribute to the teaching activities of our group.

Requirements

We are looking for a skilled experimentalist with a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics. Experience with biomedical optics and imaging methods, especially ultrasound, photoacoustics or acoustooptics is desirable. Our favored candidate is creative and likes to push boundaries. We expect the candidate to have excellent command of the English language as well as professional communication and team working skills.

Conditions of employment

The gross monthly salary depends on experience and qualifications and ranges from € 3255.- to € 4274.- Additionally, the University of Twente provides excellent facilities for professional and personal development, a holiday allowance (amount to 8%) and an end of year bonus of 8.3%.
