Tenure Track Assistant Professor Positions in Microeconomics and Public Economics
The Department of Economics of Maastricht University, the Netherlands, is offering tenure track Assistant Professorships in the areas of Microeconomics and Public Economics to commence in 2019.
Candidates with an interest in the economics of taxation are particularly encouraged to apply.

Job description

The applicants contribute to research and teaching (in English) in the area of Microeconomics and/or Public Economics. 
Administrative duties will be limited.

Requirements

-        Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related subject area (completed or nearly completed)
-        Affinity with academic research and teaching
-        Strong research orientation

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 10 years.

Initially, candidates are employed on a temporary contract as assistant professor (level 2) and agree to specific development goals. Five years into the appointment, candidates will be evaluated and if the development goals have been met, promoted to assistant professor (level 1) on a permanent contract. The evaluation can be brought forward if criteria are met earlier. On the candidate’s request the evaluation can be deferred in case of special personal circumstances, such as pregnancy leave, parental leave or chronic illness.

Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications and work experience, and ranges from EUR 49474 to EUR 76939 per year for a full-time job.
