We are looking for a lecturer for the Science, Ethics, Technology & Society course units in the bachelor’s Physics & Astronomy (Feb-Apr 2019) and in the bachelor’s Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (June 2019).

Tasks:
- coordinate both course units, including supervision of Teaching Assistants, giving part of the lectures/work-groups, and assessing students
- register improvement options and adapt the course unit based on evaluations and actuality
- support assessments of students in similar course units at Computing Science and Biology/Life Science & Technology)
- prepare adapting the course unit for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering into two separate courses, tailored to both programmes.

What we expect of you:
- a master degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, (Applied) Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Astronomy or comparable
- knowledge on societal aspects of science and engineering
- good management and communicative skills
- proficiency in English at C1-C2 level
- a University Teaching Qualification, or teaching experience, preferably in a similar course unit.

Fixed-term contract: 07 months.

What we have to offer:
• an employment for 0.8 FTE
• a salary with a minimum of € 2,709 up to a maximum of € 4,274 gross per month (salary scale 10 Dutch Universities) for a full-time position
• in addition to the salary: 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus
• an appointment until 1 September 2019 for this position; the following UFO job profile applies: Teacher 4.
