The Maastricht University – Center of Neuroeconomics (MU-CEN) and the Department of Economics (AE1) of Maastricht University offer a Postdoctoral Research position in Neuroeconomics/Decision Neuroscience. MU-CEN consists of researchers and PhD students from research groups and departments in Cognitive Neuroscience, Economics, Finance, Marketing and Psychology.

The successful applicant contributes to research in Neuroeconomics/Decision Neuroscience at MU-CEN and the Department of Economics. The candidate is expected to do a limited amount of teaching (about 0.25 full time equivalent). Maastricht University is the most international university in the Netherlands and the working language is English both in research and education. The successful applicant is expected to actively apply for external funding. Maastricht University’s neuroeconomics/decision neuroscience research facilities include Siemens 3T, 7T and 9.4T fMRI scanners, EEG, TMS, tDCS, and a 33 person fully computerized behavioral lab. Functie-eisen

  • Ph.D. in (neuro)economics, neuroscience, psychology, or a related discipline or a related field (completed or nearly completed)
  • Programming experience (e.g., R, Matlab, Python, E-prime)
  • Preferably experience in human neuroimaging (EEG, fMRI), brain stimulation (tDCS, TMS), and/or computational modeling.
  • Multidisciplinary background and interests are a plus.
  • Strong research orientation

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Dienstverband voor bepaalde tijd: two years.

The postdoctoral position is offered for a two-year period and should commence as soon as possible. In case of successful grant acquisition, an extension of the contract may be possible. Maastricht University and SBE have excellent support for application for external funding, such as workshops, dedicated funding advisors, etc.

Salary is competitive and ranges (depending on qualifications and experience) from EUR 3255 to EUR 4978 gross per month (12 monthly payments) for a full-time employment. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end of year allowance. Non-Dutch applicants may be eligible for favourable tax treatment.
