Job description

As a research assistant you will conduct a large-scale replication of a study showing that humans can solve arithmetic equations that they have not consciously perceived. The outcome of this study has profound implications for the functional role of human consciousness. This project is funded by an NWO grant for Replication Studies, which aims at replicating recent findings with particularly strong theoretical implications.

You will be involved in all stages of the research cycle, including building the experimental set-up, programming the experiment, recruiting and testing participants, pre-processing the data, analysing the data, and writing a report. This will be done in close collaboration with the supervisor (Dr Surya Gayet) and head of the Visual Cognitive Neuroscience lab (Dr Marius Peelen).

During a one-year period, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a stimulating academic environment. You can also participate in lab meetings with PhD candidates, postdocs and PIs and attend lectures from guest researchers at the Donders Institute.
