Job description

Augmentation of NK cell therapy in ovarian cancer through mRNA-mediated cytokine expression.
Ovarian cancer is the most lethal malignancy in women and novel treatment modalities are urgently needed. Intraperitoneal infusion of natural killer (NK) cells is being explored as a cell-based immunotherapy. However, currently optimal stimulation of activity is hampered by the limited availability of cytokines. In this project, we therefore aim to provide co-stimulatory cytokines through transient expression achieved by intraperitoneal delivery of mRNA nanomedicines and assess the impact of this expression on tumor cell clearance in mouse models of ovarian cancer.

This project is funded by the Dutch Cancer Foundation and is a joint activity of the Departments of Biochemistry, Laboratory Hematology and Gynaecology of the Radboud University Medical Center in collaboration with one of the world-leading providers.
