            Learning innovation consultant   

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) offers a broad portfolio of bachelor, master, MBA and executive education programmes, and is consistently ranked among the top 10 European business schools. RSM has its own learning innovation team, because in addition to high-end research, excellent education makes for a great business school. Now the team is looking for a new consultant to help us innovate our education even more.

A day in the life of a learning innovation consultant

08:30 Arrive at work. Drink coffee. Read emails.09:00 Meeting with the directors of one of the international MBA programmes on how to innovate the curriculum
10:00 Team meeting to discuss progress on projects
11:00 Facilitate a learning design session
13:00 Lunch
13:30 Discuss vision on learning innovation with executive directors
14:30 Give demo on a novel tool on digital feedback for the examination board
14:45 Write project plan for the redesign of a master course
17:00 Advise teachers on how to increase interactivity during lectures
17:30 Have a drink with the team (not every day, of course)

Requirements

Ideally, you:

  • have a master degree in educational science or a related area

  • have affinity with the use of technology in education

  • are aware of the latest developments in the field of educational science

  • have good organisation and planning skills

  • are not afraid to facilitate workshops for a critical group of academics

  • have experience with project management (for example Prince2)

  • are fluent in English

  • have excellent communication and people skills

  • are a team player

  • are independent, pro-active and eager to learn.

Conditions of employment

The position is for 0,8 – 1,0 FTE and is initially for one year, but has the potential to be extended. The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Salary ranking is based on education and experience, and may vary from a minimum of € 2,709 to a maximum of € 4,274 gross per month (scale 10 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours. Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days. We also offer ample opportunities for personal and professional development.
