The Institute of Physics (IoP) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with an interest in strongly correlated condensed matter theory, in particular the physics of ferroelectrics, multiferroics, and quantum criticality. The postdoc will join the ongoing collaboration between Dr Jasper van Wezel at the University Amsterdam and Dr Vadim Cheianov at Leiden University, funded by the Delta Institute for Theoretical Physics, focusing on transport properties of strongly correlated materials near a quantum critical point.

A PhD in Physics or an equivalent degree is required to be considered for this position. Knowledge of quantum criticality and advanced numerical skills is desirable. The candidate needs to possess excellent English communication skills. The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a period of 2 years.

Based on a full-time appointment (38 hours per week) the gross monthly salary will range from €2,709 to €4,274 gross per month. The Collective Labour Agreement (Cao) of Dutch Universities is applicable. Favourable tax agreement may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
