The Tilburg School of Catholic Theology is looking for an enthusiastic PhD student (M/F) for its The late modern transformation of religion: the case of new Catholicism research program.

We are looking for a candidate with a Master in Theology or an associated discipline, preferably with the additional Sacrae Theologiae Baccalaureus diploma or equivalent, who has a strong interest in doing research and excellent research and writing skills (including in English). Developing and defending a project plan will be part of the recruitment procedure. Candidates from migrant backgrounds are warmly encouraged to apply.

By the end of the contract, the selected candidate will be expected to have completed a PhD thesis, which will, if possible, also serve to obtain an STD.

Candidates will first be offered a contract for a year, at the end of which their performance will be reviewed. If the first-year review is positive, they will be offered a contract for the remaining 3 years. The full-time gross monthly salary in the first year will be € 2,325, rising to € 2,972 in the fourth year (on the basis of a full-time contract). Tilburg University has favorable employment conditions, including an 8 % vacation allowance and an 8.3 % year-end bonus.
