Job description

An enthusiastic and creative postdoc who will contribute to ongoing research in the group and has the long term ability and ambition to develop her/his own research line on a topic within the scope of the group. Studies in the Nutrition, Metabolism and Genomics group are geared towards expanding our knowledge of the molecular physiology of nutrient metabolism in health and metabolic diseases and elucidating what key regulatory pathways go awry during disease development and aging. Research in the group covers the following main themes: 1. Molecular regulation of lipid metabolism. 2. Immunometabolism , adipose tissue, and metabolic health. 3. Nutritional regulation of intestinal health. Requirements

  • Doctorate in biomedical sciences, nutritional science, molecular biology or other related disciplines with several publications as first author
  • Extensive experience with cell culture models and working with laboratory animals
  • Experience with molecular and biochemical techniques
  • Has a passion for molecular nutrition research and an interest in developing/setting-up new methods (in the lab)
  • A positive and connecting team player who can motivate others
  • Outstanding English writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong internal drive to excel and succeed

We offer a temporary position (2 years) with an average working time of 38 hours per week. An extension is possible contingent on securing (personal) grants. Salary before tax from € 2.709,- to € 4.274,- (scale 10) based on full time employment and dependent on expertise and experience.
