Job description

We seek a highly talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher for a European Research Council (ERC) funded Consolidator project entitled Dare to Approach. The overarching aim of the project is to develop a computational framework explaining how people make costly avoidance decisions under acute threat, and how they are able to override strong avoidance tendencies to achieve a higher-order goal. Ultimately we want to contribute to a better understanding of the neurocognitive basis of passive and active avoidance in healthy and anxious individuals, and to provide starting points for personalised interventions to alleviate persistent avoidance in anxiety patients.
