Job description

Are you an enthusiastic lecturer with a broad interest in different areas of law? Are you ambitious and willing to build a career in University education and research?

YOUR ROLE
  • contribute to our strongly internationally-oriented teaching programme.
  • oversee and/or teach some of the law courses offered in Dutch, specifically:
  1. "Legal Regulation and Management of Production chains". The course aims at first year Bachelor students in Management and Consumer Studies. It covers elements of Dutch private law, such as contract law and consumer law, at introductory level.
  2. "Public Administration and Environmental Law". This course is an introduction into public administration and environmental law in Dutch and European contexts. You would be responsible only for the parts related to environmental law.
  • teach parts of the Bachelor and Masters courses the law group offers in food law in English.
  • supervise and mark students' papers and exams related to courses taught.
  • supervise student theses and internships.
  • assist in building and sharing digital learning environments for law courses via Blackboard.

Requirements

WE ASK
  • A Masters or PhD in the area of law.
  • An affinity with, and proven experience in, legal research commensurate with years of experience.
  • A passion for education and enthusiasm for lecturing and supervising international students.
  • A demonstrated ability to organise and execute multiple (educational) tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both with students and academic staff.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
  • A strong teammate

The position is full time, based on a 38-hour working week. You also have the opportunity to work 40 hours a week with additional holidays. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience, and range from € 2.588,- to € 4.084 (gross) based on 38 hours, in accordance with, the Collective Labour Agreement of Wageningen University.
