The Social, Economic, and Organisational Psychology Unit of the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Leiden University is looking for two Assistant Professors (1,00 FTE)

Job description

The Assistant Professor will strongly contribute to the teaching program of the unit. In particular, the Assistant Professor will…

  • Be involved in the teaching of different topics and curricula at the Bachelor and Master level (Social and Organizational Psychology and/or Economic and Consumer Psychology), and supervise of students at different stages of their education (first year tutorials, Bachelor research project, Master thesis, Professional internship);
  • Participate in administrative and/or service activities;
  • Contribute  to the research program of the unit with a focus on application of insights in social,  economic, and organizational decision making.

Both vacancies have 80% teaching time and 20% research time; working part time is possible.

  • Demonstrated teaching abilities;
  • Experience with various types of teaching and supervision of students at different stages of their education;
  • Demonstrated research skills, evident from a completed PhD thesis.

Conditions of employment

We offer a fixed-term position for four years. Ideally, the starting date will be August 2019. Salary range from €3637 to € 5656 gross per month (pay scale 11 or 12, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).

Leiden University requires teaching staff to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ). If the successful applicant does not already  possess this qualification or its equivalent, he/ she must be willing to obtain this Qualification within two years.
