The Donders Centre for Cognition (DCC), part of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. We are looking for promising candidates at the assistant professor level, which consists of a flexible division between research time and teaching-related activities. As an aspiring Principal Investigator (PI) you will be given the opportunity to set up your own independent research group, using brain stimulation as your key methodology for cognitive neuroscience research. Your research should be in line with one of the following themes of the Donders Institute:
Your research programme is generally aimed at understanding how human sensorimotor or sociocognitive systems are organised, and how plasticity in these systems mediates complex behaviour, language, motivation, memory and control. We are looking for someone with an interdisciplinary research profile, also willing to set up collaborative research with other research groups at the Donders Institute. Applicants with research programmes that impact societal domains such as health and disease, learning and education, or technology are also encouraged to apply.
You will be expected to actively obtain research funds. Teaching will be within the School of Psychology and/or School of Artificial Intelligence. You will be teaching in the broad areas of cognitive neuroscience and biological psychology and supervise students working on their Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. EEG, TMS and motion tracking labs, excellent access to fMRI and other neuroimaging facilities and an in-house technical workshop are also available.
