Job description

As the successful candidate for this PhD project, you will be participating in the IMI Conception consortium, a ground-breaking pan-European partnership between 51 pharmaceutical companies, academia and government agencies funded by the EU Innovative Medicines Initiative. This consortium aims to develop a system for generating evidence on the safety of drugs in pregnancy and during breast feeding from real-world evidence.

Your project involves interviewing pregnant women and organizations to understand the ethical issues around participating in a learning health care system, and testing the system to check whether health care data are fit for assessment purposes. Your key tasks will therefore involve collecting data on ethical issues, designing analysis plans and visual displays for the assessment of the quality of data from real world evidence, ensuring participation in and implementation of demonstration studies together with other collaborators, and reporting in scientific journals.

Requirements

As the ideal candidate for this PhD project, you have an MSc in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare Science, Epidemiology, Data Science or a similar field, and preferably a number of years of experience in the field of healthcare innovation, working with and analyzing real world  data. You have a solid interest and background in the integration of ethics, governance and scientific aspects of a learning health care system and are able to program in R. Proven communication skills, writing ability, strong problem solving skills, and fluency in English are essential. Not only are you able to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team, you are also interested in collaborating with different partners and stakeholders, both locally and internationally.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: for 1 year with the possibility of extension.

For this 100% post, the maximum salary will be € 3020,-. This will be a temporary appointment for 1 year with the possibility of extension.
