About the EBMT (formerly known as the Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation)

The EBMT is a not-for-profit medical and scientific organisation established in 1974.

Mission: We are a community of healthcare professionals focused on innovation, research and the advancement of cellular and stem cell-based therapies to save and improve the lives of patients with blood-related disorders.

Vision: As one of the leading medical and scientific organisations for cellular and stem cell-based therapies, we aim to be the connection between patients, scientific community and other stakeholders to anticipate the future of our field.

The EBMT has more than 5,000 members in over 60 countries. Members of the EBMT are centres and individuals active in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy research, or any other organisation involved in the care of donors and recipients of haematopoietic stem cells. The EBMT organises an Annual Meeting attended by more than 6,000 participants, including international experts, scientists, physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals and patients. This important forum ensures and encourages dialogues and information exchange, education and scientific productivity.

The EBMT has offices in Barcelona, Leiden, London and Paris, and currently has more than 90 members of staff working on behalf of the organisation.
