Max hours per week: 32-38 hours
Max salary: 3298,00
Duration of agreement: 1 year

What you will be doing
Primary functions of this position are:
  • Supporting researchers during experimental procedures (rodents)
  • Refinement of experimental procedures (rodents)
  • Performing animal care and husbandry procedures (rodents)
  • SOPs writing
  • Work with Animal Facility databases and data collection
  • Inclusion in weekend roster to take care of animals (on average once every 5 weeks)

Requirements

What you will be contributing
You will contributing to improve the 3Rs in experimental procedures in rodents, therefore following requirements are needed:
  • at least 1 year proven experience with animal care and/or basic experimental procedures on rodents.
  • Understanding of ethical principles, European regulations, and accepted standards for animal research.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
  • BSc or MSc in a relevant field.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch desirable

Department

The Animal Facilities Department

The Animal Facilities Department is responsible for housing, breeding and care of laboratory animals, and provides support for animal experimental research within the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience. The Department has a team of 11 and works in close connection with neuroscientists and the local IvD (Animal Welfare Body).
