Job description

You will work closely with other enthusiastic team members and researchers. Key tasks include preparing cell cultures, conducting experiments (such as differentiation to cardiomyocytes), contributing to laboratory management and organization, and preparing media, solutions, and reagents for cell culture.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Performing cell culture experiments according to standard protocols and guidelines.
  • Preparing media, solutions, and reagents for cell culture.
  • Differentiating stem cells to cardiac cells.
  • Assisting with the analysis of experimental results and documenting findings.
  • Contributing to laboratory organization and management, including ordering and equipment maintenance.
  • Compliance with laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Requirements

  • A completed HBO (bachelor) degree in Life Sciences, biotechnology, cell biology, or a related field.
  • Experience with cell culture techniques, particularly with human pluripotent stem cells, is advantageous but not required.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively functioning in a team environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to various aspects of cell culture.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly report on experimental results.
  • Willingness to learn and follow new techniques and procedures.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and acquiring new skills.
  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

Conditions of employment

  • We offer you a full-time position for one year, with the prospect of extension based on well-functioning and constant operating conditions.
  • You will receive a gross monthly ranging from €2693,- and €3636,- (scale 7) depending on experience and education.
  • Appointment is in accordance with the CAO Dutch Universities, including excellent benefits such as holiday allowance (8% of the gross annual salary), a year-end bonus (8.3%) and a solid pension scheme.
