Job description

The aim of the position is twofold. On the one hand, the postdoc is a part of the research team of the faculty of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences, and in that capacity develops novel scientific methods and techniques for analyzing and optimizing supply chains for resilience. On the other hand, the postdoc is a member of the 4TU Center of Resilience Engineering, and in that capacity connects experts from diverse research areas, companies, and governmental organizations by co-organizing meetings, ideation sessions, and workshops with the aim to submit a large project proposal to further drive the research towards resilient supply chains.

Requirements

The preferred candidate will meet as many of the following requirements as possible:
  • You have a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Econometrics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Resilience Engineering, Risk Management, or a similar field of study.
  • The ideal candidate has a background in robust optimization or resilience engineering.
  • You have a good background in programming.
  • You can work on a challenging topic that has both fundamental and applied research aspects.
  • You have a strong affinity with interdisciplinary research.
  • You enjoy collaborating with others, including industrial partners.
  • Your communication skills are excellent as is your proficiency in English and your ability to collaborate in an international setting.

  • Full-time employment for 12 months.
  • Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10 (min € 4,020 and max. €5,278).
