Job description

As a research technician, you will be part of a team that aims to detect cancer through the analysis of blood of cancer patients. This project aims to evaluate the presence of tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (tdEVs) in blood of early pancreatic cancer patients and their potential as biomarker during surveillance of high-risk individuals. You will use novel probes to label tdEVs in blood plasma of pancreatic cancer patients. You will use state-of-the are methods, such as single-EV Flow Cytometry and super-resolution Fluorescence Microscopy to validate and quantify the presence of tdEVs in the blood of patients.

Requirements

You work meticulously with a strong attention to detail and report your findings accurately. You excel in both independent tasks and collaborative teamwork, demonstrating effective communication skills. You show motivation and a sense of responsibility in your work, consistently striving for high-quality results. Additionally, you have:

  • A completed HBO-level or MSc degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Laboratory Research, or a related field.
  • Experience performing standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Conditions of employment

  • As a research technician, your salary will be between €2,932 and € 3,923 gross per month (scale 7, CAO UMC). These figures are based on a full-time position.
  • The procedure involves several stages, including sending your CV, a motivation letter, followed by an interview to selected candidates.
